10 Years of ODSC East: A Journey Through AI, Community, and Innovation
As you’ve likely seen by now, ODSC East 2025 this May 13th-15th will be very special — it’ll be the 10th anniversary! Now that ODSC has been a staple in the AI and data science community for ten years, we’d like to share some numbers that highlight our growth over the years.
OpenDataScience
Our blog site, OpenDataScience.com, started off as a small branch of the ODSC brand, and has now become a must-read site for anyone interested in data science and AI. As of writing, we’ve published over 4000 blogs! Here are the most-read ones since we started this site almost ten years ago:

We’ve held dozens of conferences over the years beyond just ODSC East, and each conference features dozens if not hundreds of sessions, between ODSC East, West, APAC, India, and plenty more.
Not including ODSC East 2025, we’ve held almost 5000 sessions in-person and virtually! You can watch many of these sessions on our YouTube channel or on our Ai+ Training platform.
Community
Our community means the world to us, and this goes way beyond just the people who attend ODSC events. We hold 35 webinars per year on average and host 15+ meetups in cities like Boston, NYC, DC, Seattle, and London. Last year, our community grew to over 160,000 people across channels like Meetup, Luma, Slack, and we’re always entering new communities every year.

Our partners and exhibitors help shape our conferences, and we wouldn’t be able to bring our conferences to life if it weren’t for them! Over the years, we’ve had almost 300 different companies, non-profits, and startups at our events. Between booths, media partnerships, speaking opportunities, and plenty more, these partnerships help bring the world of open-source to our massive community.

Be a part of the largest AI community around
The numbers above aren’t the final answer — we’re constantly growing, changing, and supporting the open-source movement in different ways. Even just five years ago, we wouldn’t have imagined that generative AI, LLMs, and agentic AI would be on the tip of our tongues in every conversation, yet here we are. Even non-AI practitioners are talking about GenAI, ChatGPT, and image generators — discussions that definitely weren’t a thing just a few years ago.
We’re planning for the 10th anniversary of ODSC East to be the biggest one yet. Coming up this May 13th-15th in Boston and virtually, ODSC East is shaping up to be a good time. We’re at a new location in Boston’s Seaport, we’re going to have an entire Keynote track, and we’re planning fun celebrations.
