Amazon has announced the launch of Alexa+, a next-generation AI assistant powered by generative AI, promising a more intelligent, conversational, and action-oriented experience for users. Available for free to Prime members, Alexa+ integrates advanced AI capabilities to enhance daily tasks, entertainment, and smart home management.

A New Era of AI Assistance

Alexa+ builds upon Amazon’s advancements in large language models and cloud-based AI to deliver a more natural and intuitive experience. According to Amazon, conversations with Alexa+ will feel seamless, allowing users to communicate with half-formed thoughts or colloquial expressions while still receiving accurate and relevant responses.

Beyond conversation, Alexa+ introduces “agentic capabilities,” enabling it to autonomously complete tasks such as booking appointments, arranging home repairs, and even navigating the web to find relevant service providers. With more than 600 million Alexa-enabled devices already in use, Alexa+ enhances existing smart home functions by connecting with products from Philips Hue, Roborock, and Ring, among others.
