First 50 ODSC West 2022 Speakers Announced
Having just wrapped up a successful ODSC Europe, we’re now turning our attention to ODSC West 2022 and we couldn’t be more excited to announce our first group of speakers. These innovators and experts have helped shape the fields of data science and AI into what we have today, and will continue to do so in the years to come. You can find a full list of our currently confirmed ODSC West speakers here, and a sneak peek of just a few of them (and their session topics) below.
Confirmed Sessions:
Self-Supervised and Unsupervised Learning for Conversational AI and NLP: Chandra Khatri | Chief Scientist and Head of AI | Got It AI
In recent years, the fields of NLP, robotics, and computer vision, among others, have seen significant advancement thanks to Self-supervised and Unsupervised learning techniques. This session will provide hands-on examples of how you can apply large language models and transformers to zero-shot and few-shot learning in NLP applications.
Reasoning About the Probabilistic Behavior of Classifiers: Guy Van den Broeck, PhD | Director at StarAI (Statistical and Relational Artificial Intelligence Lab) | Associate Professor at UCLA
In this session, you will learn about recent developments in the field of learned classifiers. In particular, you will discuss explainable AI techniques (efficient SHAP explanations, probabilistic sufficient explanations) and how to include domain knowledge in machine learning models.
Beyond the Basics: Data Visualization in Python: Stefanie Molin | Data Scientist, Software Engineer at Bloomberg | Author of Hands-On Data Analysis with Pandas
In this session, you will learn how to use Python to create engaging visualizations for your data. You’ll also learn about HoloViz and how you can use it in combination with Matplotlib and Bokeh to create interactive visualizations.
The Data Science Behind the Data Science: Why Automated Labeling and Responsible AI are the Foundation of High-Quality Predictive Modeling: Rachel Kellam | Product Manager, AI Strategy & Business Transformation | Appen
During this session, you’ll learn about the challenges you might face when humans are responsible for data sourcing, data preparation, and model evaluation. You’ll also examine how you can optimize predictive modeling through responsible AI and automated labeling.
