Our third ODSC APAC is still a couple of months away, coming virtually this September 7th-8th, but we are excited to be able to announce several of our session titles and expert speakers early. All in all, ODSC APAC will host 38 speakers and 30+ sessions over the course of two days. Check out just a few of them below.

Confirmed Sessions:

Route Optimization Using Reinforcement Learning and Metaheuristics

Ravi Ranjan | Data Science Manager | Publicis Sapient and Sushant Burnawal | Senior Associate Data Science L1 | Publicis Sapient

Over the past two years, eCommerce platforms have had to contend with orders that are widely dispersed across cities, countries, and sometimes even the globe. This increase in variables has rendered conventional methods of route optimization ineffective. In this session, you will hear about how the multi-objective routing issues could be solved with optimization variables.

Interpretable AI: Making Black Box Models Explainable

Jeetendra Kumar Sharma | Manager- Data Science | United Airlines

In this session, you’ll learn about different methods for making machine learning models more interpretable. These methods could help you not only avoid bias in your model, but also help make the information provided by the model more actionable.

Responsible AI Starts with Responsible Design

Bujuanes Livermore | Global Head of Research & Design for Human Experiences with AI | Microsoft

In this session, you will learn best practices for incorporating your end-users and customers into the experiments that help improve your product. Only by doing so will you be able to effectively understand the impact your product has on the end-user, whether it is positive or negative.

Monitoring CV Systems: A Unique Solution to a Unique Problem

Raymond Reed | Customer Success Data Scientist | WhyLabs

Maintaining proper observability of your data and model health is essential for preventing costly sudden failures. In this session, you will learn about the multitudes of issues that can adversely impact data and model health, as well as how to address and solve these issues.

Explainable Machine Learning — A Human-Centric Perspective

Aditya Bhattacharya | Explainable AI Researcher | KU Leuven

This session will examine whether the currently available techniques are in fact “human friendly” and accessible to non-technical users. It will also address the question of how to bridge the gap between end-users and models with explainable AI.

Using Augmented Reality, Machine Vision & Deep Learning for Solving Supply Chain Problems

Deepak NagarajeGowda | Senior Principal Data Scientist | Dell Technologies

This session will address how to solve complicated supply chain problems in the fields of manufacturing, quality control, inventory management, and warehousing by combining techniques such as machine vision, deep learning, and augmented reality.

Data Science in a Data-Driven Energy Organisation
