The guidelines are currently being used by contractors who test Meta’s chatbot systems. Meta communications chief Andy Stone confirmed the authenticity of these standards, stating that they align with the company’s policy to ban any form of sexualized or romantic roleplay involving minors. Meta has not provided additional comment beyond this statement.

Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) demanded that CEO Mark Zuckerberg release Meta’s complete AI chatbot rulebook, citing public safety concerns.
