Students who sign up can expect an 18-month course duration that offers a blend of in-person, online, and hybrid learning formats. This of course is a clear signal that the school is hoping to cater to a diverse range of student needs and lifestyles.

With Dr. Steve Nordstrom, associate dean of Lipscomb’s School of Computing, at the helm, the curriculum will cover a comprehensive spectrum of AI topics. “Our offering includes a core set of courses that delve into the fundamentals of AI, computing languages, ethics, and the societal impacts of AI.”

The heart graduate course is focused on problem-solving methods and the productive application of AI in the workforce. The main point is to get ahead of how AI is continually transforming industries and job functions.

So the initiative seeks to demystify AI and mitigate associated apprehensions. “AI can be intimidating, as with most emerging technologies,” Nordstrom acknowledges. “Our goal is to alleviate some of these fears and provide a comprehensive understanding of what AI entails.”

For those who are interested, the program is expected to start in August, subject to accreditation approval. Nordstrom emphasizes the ubiquity of AI’s influence, stating, “Moving forward, our interactions with both government and private sectors, as well as our professional and daily life decisions, will be increasingly shaped by our understanding and perspective on AI.
